The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) intends to award a firm fixed price contract for 300 Stego Enclosure Heaters, CSK 060 Series part number 06040.0-00 for the National Logistics Support Center in Grandview, MO. The Government intends to make an award to the responsive responsible small business quoter providing the best value in accordance with FAR 13.106- 2(B)(3). This is a brand name requirement and a total small business setaside. Brand name Justification: The supplied item, manufactured by STEGO with item number 06040.0-00, must possess complete compatibility (in terms of form, fit, and function) with existing systems or equipment. Moreover, the source of this item is uniquely qualified to meet the requirement. The Automated Surface Observation System (ASOS) relies on these heaters to support the Ice-Free Wind Sensor at each ASOS location. The Heaters with item number 06040.0-00, previously purchased, have successfully undergone the necessary testing mandated by the FAA and the National Weather Service. The ASOS systems underwent extensive and meticulous testing of the heaters, and they passed the rigorous quality control process. Additionally, these heaters have received certification from both the FAA and NWS. It is important to note that the government has already tested and approved this specific heater (item number 06040.0-00). Acquiring approval from the FAA/NWS for an alternative brand or type may incur substantial delays and expenses. This situation is undesirable since it would require significant funding and time to accomplish.
