The USDA Forest Service, on behalf of the interagency wildland fire community, wishes to conduct a Request for Information that will serve as market research around cameras and sensors that will aid in detection and monitoring of wildland fires as well as other natural phenomena. The Forest Service wants to ensure the right strategies, industry participants, and processes are established to conduct an efficient, robust competition. This will be an IT purchase. See attached RFI for details. Responses to this Request for Information (RFI) are due no later than 1200 PM Eastern Time on Wednesday, 1 February 2023. Submissions shall be emailed to Kelly B Updegraff at kelly.b.updegraff@usda.gov. Submissions after this time and date may be considered nonresponsive and may not be accepted. All questions and comments must be received no later than 1200 PM Eastern Time on 24 January 2023. Questions and comments received after this time and date may not be responded to. AMENDMENT 1 - This RFI is to collect data for a potential future project(s). Multiple requests to meet individually to cover capabilities have been received. The Forest Service will not be meeting with any individual vendor; the Forest Service may hold an Industry Day in the future. A determination to conduct an Industry Day will be decided based on the results of this RFI and other internal factors. If an Industry Day will be conducted, the time and date may be posted on SAM.gov. See the attached amendment. AMENDMENT 2 - Change the response time/date to now read 1200 PM ET on 8 February 2023.
