Not responding to this notice does not preclude participation in any future RFP or RFQ, if issued.” The Field Service laboratories of the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) currently analyze raw and cooked import meat products to determine animal species. For Fiscal Year 2024, FSIS expects to test ~270 food samples for meat speciation, ~225 raw fish samples for Siluriformes identification, and ~20 pathology samples for mouse/rat identification. FSIS is seeking a new method to identify all current species tested by FSIS: Siluriformes, canine, feline, bovine, chicken, ovine, equine, porcine, turkey, caprine, deer, elk, duck, and rabbit species. FSIS is also seeking to expand its current species testing to include mouse and rat DNA. FSIS plans to solicit abd award this requirement 1st QTR FY24 pending results of the Sources Sought.
