The U.S. Arid-Land Agricultural Research Center requests proposals from qualified contractors interested in the removal/replacement of (3) Three 40 HP Chilled Water Loop pumps/motors and (3) Three 15 HP Hot Water Loop Pumps with all associated piping and fittings, including expansion joints, located at the ALARC laboratory in Maricopa, Arizona. USDA-ARS Arid-Land Agricultural Research Center 21881 North Cardon Lane Maricopa, AZ. 85138 The project is located approximately 4.5 miles east of Highway 347. Turn east off highway 347 on Smith-Enke Road continue on Smith-Enke road for approximately 4 miles to Cardon Lane; turn north for 4/10 mile to the laboratory site, parking is located on the north end of the site. Work hours: All work performed on site shall take place during normal business hours; Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm (hours may be adjusted depending on the season). History: Pumps/motors are over 15 years old and are past their useful life. Site Visit: A Site visit is recommended and will be held at 21881 N. Cardon Lane, Maricopa, AZ 85138 on April 10th, 2019 at 10:00. For alternate scheduling, contact Harry Gardner directly. Prospective bidders are to meet in the main lobby at specified time. SCOPE OF SERVICES: •· Schedule work with facilities department. •· Lockout/Tag out existing pumps/motors. •· Remove the three (3) defective 40 HP Bell and Gossett base mounted end suction pumps servicing the Chilled Water Loop pumps/motors and Three (3) defective 15 HP Bell and Gossett base mounted end suction pumps servicing the Hot Water Loop Pumps and remove from the location. Pumps are isolated with electrical disconnects and isolation valves which will allow the system to be in operation during the equipment change. •· Replace with Three (3) new 40 HP Baldor/Bell & Gossett base mounted end suction pumps or equivalent pumps/ motors and Three (3) new 15 HP Baldor/Bell & Gossett base mounted end suction pumps or equivalent pumps/motors. •· Provide and install two (2) new stainless steel flex connectors with new gasket kits on each pump configuration, reconfigure piping and fittings as required, existing suction diffuser can be reused. •· Ensure laser pump alignment, start pumps, check for proper rotation and operation. •· Reconnect electrical with new seal tight, wire and fittings as required. •· Remove Lock Out / Tag Out from the system. •· Provide Factory Start-up & Training and manuals. •· Provide Warranty. •· Provide the USDA with all necessary documentation. The Contractor will designate one supervisor for satisfactory supervision on the contract work. The Contractor or his/her on-site representative shall be available at all times while the contract work is in progress. Conduct of workers: The personnel employed by the Contractor shall be capable employees qualified in this type of work. As stated elsewhere, the Contractor shall be responsible for, among other things, all damage to the government property resulting from the operations. Sanitation facilities: The contractor may use the government sanitary facilities during the execution of this project. It is required that the contractor use these facilities in a responsible manner. Government Furnished Utilities: The Government will furnish electrical and water utilities for the contractors' use during the contract period so long as the contractor uses these efficiently and economically. Damage to Contractors' Property: The Government will not be responsible in any way for damage to the Contractors' equipment or the contractors' employees' personal belongings brought onto the Government premises during the performance of this contract. Basis of Award: One contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible quote based on the total quoted price for the work listed in the scope of services. NOTE: Award will be made to the proposal which offers the best value to the Government. The Government reserves the right to make no award at all.
