USDA’s Agricultural and Marketing Service Service has a requirement to move and install equipment at a cotton classing facility in Abilene, Texas. Background: Air compressors and dryers are integral parts of the mechanical system used to measure and classify cotton samples. A new air compressor was purchased and requires installation. The old air compressor will be retained as a backup for redundancy purposes. The current location of the old air compressor exposes it to external weather conditions that are detrimental to the life of the equipment. All air compressor and dryer equipment needs to be moved into the mechanical room. Additionally, there are two central vacuum units that remove cotton dust and debris that are created in the cotton classification process. The vacuum units are currently located in two separate areas and need to be consolidated into the mechanical room. The NAICS code is 238220 – Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning Contractors, with a small business size standard of $19 million. The estimated magnitude of the project is between $25,000 and $100,000. The project will be set aside for small business concerns only. The solicitation will be posted on or about July 29, 2025. It is the responsibility of interested parties to monitor this site for the solicitation and amendments, if any. Questions concerning this synopsis should be directed to Jim Roloff, contracting officer, at james.g.roloff@usda.gov.
