The U.S. Department of Agriculture, Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service, has a requirement for the replacement of a steam boiler system at Moore Air Base, Edinburg, Texas. The scope of work includes in part: Remove and dispose of a 30-year-old Sellers back-up natural gas steam boiler. This work includes removing the existing corrugated sheet metal from the building to facilitate the removal of the boiler and installation of new boiler. Contractor shall reinstall the corrugated sheet metal after the new boiler is installed. Furnish and install one 40 BHP (Boiler Horsepower), 1,339 MBH (thousand BTU per hour) steam boiler package unit (new Hurst 300 Series, Scotch Marine Boiler Skid with Riello RX400 burner, or approved equal). This boiler shall include a 60-gal feed water tank with two boiler feed water pumps, and blowdown separator with aftercooler. The NAICS code for this project is 238220 Plumbing, Heating, and Air-Conditioning Contractors, with a small business size standard of $19 million. The estimated magnitude of the project is between $250,000 and $500,000. The project will be set aside for small business concerns only. The solicitation will be posted on or about May 21, 2024.
