The U.S. Department of Agriculture, Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service, intends to issue an RFP to make site improvements at 5297 Dixie Plantation Road, Hollywood, SC 29449. Background: In 2020 South Carolina state personnel discovered an outbreak of Asian Long Horned Beetle (ALB) on several parcels of land owned and operated by the College of Charleston and surrounding acreages. USDA APHIS met with the University of Clemson to discuss the infestation and methodologies to eradicate the ALB. Note: The University of Clemson is the regulatory entity who represents the state of South Carolina, the College of Charleston, and the Conservation Easement Group that manages the 1,000-acre plantation site. USDA proposes developing portions of the plantation site near the North Research Station for a temporary base of operations during the ALB eradication process. Site improvements will ensure the required infrastructure is accessible to install and operate two 24’W x 60’L modular trailers and four 8’W x 30’L CONEX storage units. In addition, Contractor shall provide a large shade structure, roughly 36’W x 60’L, that will cover the entrances to both the modular units and the storage units. Cover will provide protection during inclement weather. The magnitude of this project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. The NAICS code is 236220 Commercial and Institutional Building Construction, with a small business size standard is $39.5 million. This procurement shall be set aside for service-disabled veteran-owned small business firms only. The solicitation and all other documents related to this procurement will be available on SAM on or about July 21, 2022.
