The purpose of this sources sought notice is to determine the interest and feasibility of small business set-asides. This synopsis is for information and planning purposes and is not to be construed as a commitment by the U.S. Government, nor will the U.S. Government pay for information solicited. The information from this notice will help the United States Department of Agriculture, USDA, Animal Plant Inspection Services, APHIS, National Veterinary Services Laboratory, NVSL, Ames, Iowa plan their acquisition strategy or plan. PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL, NO SOLICITATION EXISTS AT THIS TIME. Grain Scale Functions and Specifications H2 Graingage 1997 Grain scale will be used for weighing all types of crops in a research plot setting. Grain Scale must be able to record test weight, moisture and total plot weight simultaneously while harvesting crop. Internal mass flow capacity must be 60-65 lb per 6 seconds. Weighed crops include; corn, soybean, small grains (barley, oats, rye and wheat) and oil seeds. Changes and/or adjustments between crops must be easy and not time consuming. Total clean out between plots. Grain scale must be easily mounted on the combine without effecting harvest capacity. Plot grain scale must meet the detailed specifications listed below to match current research plot design and continuity. Please refer to list below for detailed specifications. Grain Scale Specifications Must weigh test weight, moisture and total plot weight simultaneously while harvesting crop Internal mass flow capacity must be 60-65 lbs per 6 seconds Weighed crops include: corn, soybean, small grains (barley, oats, rye and wheat) and oil seeds.
