The Maine NRCS is replacing failing, undersized crossings with “stream smart” structures to improve stream connectivity throughout the state. The final design for each proposed structure requires that the foundation materials be known. See attached solicitation, statement of work, and other attachments for greater detail.

The solicitaton and attachments are anticipated to be posted on or around 9/9/2021. The Maine NRCS is replacing failing, undersized crossings with “stream smart” structures to improve stream connectivity throughout the state. The final design for the proposed structure requires that the foundation materials be known. Potential structures that could be installed include, but are not limited to: Bridges, Culverts, Streambank Stabilization, and Stream Restoration. A geotechnical drilling company will provide core samples of the underlying materials at four different sites located within the State of Maine and will send the test samples to a lab for geotechnical analysis and report. The anticipated geologic formation materials to be drilled consist of overburden materials composed of glacial till, outwash, and alluvial floodplain deposits; bedrock is anticipated.
