USDA NRCS Kellogg Soil Survey Laboratory (KSSL) located in Lincoln, Nebraska has a percentage of soil samples that are received, processed and analyzed which are regulated by the USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS). The APHIS soil permit allows the KSSL to received regulated soil samples and gives specific requirements for the handling and disposal of regulated soil samples. The soil samples themselves and materials that come in contact with the soil samples must be handled, decontaminated and disposed of according to specific requirements in the APHIS Permit and Compliance Agreement. USDA NRCS KSSL produces three categories of waste products that it does not have capacity to decontaminate: Acid Waste; Water/Acetone Mixture; Solid Consumable Waste. These materials must be collected and disposed of by a contractor that is permitted and approved by APHIS and any other applicable regulatory agency. The contractor will be required to collect regulated waste materials upon request by the KSSL. Please review the attached Request for Quotes for all the details. Please review carefully.
