The equipm... This solicitation is being extended 1 day to allow 4 contaced vendors to respond. This Small Business set-aside requirement is for Topcon Survey equipment supporting the State of Tennessee. The equipment will replace obsolete equipment currently held in the state. This equipment is necessary for USDA NRCS engineers to be able to create accurate designs to assist farmers, protect neighborhoods and service communities. The Topcon Hiper VR receivers provide a 9 axis IMU tilt compensation ability no other brands provide. Much of the surveying that NRCS performs is on all-terrain vehicles (ATV). The tilt compensation provides more accurate survey data when used with an ATV, especially on rough and/or steep ground and allows easier staking and data collection with an ATV without the worry of the receiver being out of plumb capturing incorrect data. Several states adjacent to TN are using this equipment and have developed training and guidance documents. The opportunity to network and collaborate with others on the use of identical equipment will benefit all by helping to make the most efficient use of time. During emergency situations when providing assistance to these adjacent states, having the same equipment will allow a more seamless and timely integration and processing of survey data.
