Repair/replace water line at the Forest Service Qunicy Supervisor Office. Saw cut approximately 3 feet wide and 126 feet long of existing asphalt parking lot surface. Trench carefully due to potential underground utilities, approximately 4 feet down to the existing 4 inch diameter corroded cast iron pipe. Width and length of trench will be approximately 4 and 126 feet respectively. Replace the existing waterline with a 6 inch diameter C?900 pipe ¾ inch thick. Backfill with sand, wire and tape. The work also includes replacing the existing shutoff valve in the junction box with a new in in?kind valve. Connect the new pipe to the existing fire hydrant on one end and connect the new valve with a 6” to 4” reducer to the existing 4” pipe on the other end. All pipes and connectors must meet the code requirements of State and County. Proper bedding and compaction must be used for the pipe placement. Back fill the trench with appropriate materials. Use asphalt cold patch for the upper 3 inches of the parking lot surface. Meet all applicable safety OSHA trenching requirements. Contractor will be responsible for any damages done to underground utilities and will be responsible for all repairs.
