The solicitation and any resultant contract will be a stewardship project in accordance with Section 323 of Public Law 108-7 (16 U.S.C. 2104 Note, as revised February 28, 2003 to reflect sec. 323 of J.J. Res 2 as enrolled), the Consolidated Appropriations Resolution, 2003, amending Public Law 105-277 sec 347. This project is being advertised for full and open competition. This acquisition has been tailored to fit the Governments need for trading goods for services. The Challenge Stewardship Project is located on the Feather River Ranger District, Plumas National Forest. The project area of approximately 782 acres includes fuels reduction treatments units and biomass removal units. The project includes removal of approximately 24,784 tons of Combined Softwood - Sawtimber, and 2,851 tons of Combined Hardwood - Fuelwood. Project Location - The Challenge IRSC Contract is a USFS Fuels Reduction and Biomass removal project in the Challenge CA area. Contract Area is located on the Feather River Ranger District of the Plumas National Forest. The project is located in T19N, R7E Sections 16, 19-21, 28-30, 30, 32-34; T18N, R7E Sections 2 and 3, Mount Diablo Base and Meridian (MDBM). The solicitation package will be uploaded approximately May 6th, 2019. The date of award is expected to be within 60 days after the actual response date, which will be stated in the package and is subject to change with amendments to the solicitation. The contractors are encouraged to visit the site prior to the response date. A prebid meeting is scheduled to be held at the site on May 17th, 2019 and will meet at the USFS Challenge Fire Station at 0930. The USFS Challenge Fire Station is located at 18050 Mulock Road, Challenge, CA 95925. Please hold any technical questions until after review of the solicitation.
