Solicitation Documents: The solicitation will be issued as a Request for Proposal (RFP) requiring both price and technical proposals responding to evaluation criteria described in the solicitation. Documents will only be available electronically to download from this website on or about April 7, 2020. Description: The intent of this project is to maintain a shaded fuel break. This will be accomplished with a combination of mechanical brush removal and mechanical thinning to a desired distance. The process is to thin the conifers to the desired spacing as well as remove the brush understory. Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, supervision, transportation and supplies to perform all work specified therein. Location: The project is located on the Shasta-Trinity National Forest, Shasta-McCloud Management Unit, Mt. Shasta Ranger District, Mt. Shasta, CA. Both Line Items are located west of HWY 97 north of Weed, CA. Line Item 0001 fuel break segment is along forest road 42N15, 5 miles north of Weed, CA. Line Item 0002 Option fuel break segment is along the Military Pass Road (43N19) approximately 16.5 miles north of Weed.
