Title: Coronado National Forest HVAC Replacement Description of Work The Santa Catalina Ranger District Office and the Sabino Canyon Visitor’s Center of the Coronado National Forest is comprised of four (4) modular buildings which make up the District Offices and a Visitors Center building. The current climate control system for two (2) of the modular buildings is comprised of a packaged HVAC unit on one (1) end of each of the buildings. The other two (2) modular buildings have packaged HVAC units on the roof. Currently, only three (3) of the four (4) units are functioning properly. The climate control system for the Visitor Center is comprised of two (2) packaged HVAC units on the roof. Currently, only one (1) of two (2) units is functioning properly. The work associated with this project entails removing and replacing the two (2) non-functional units and one (1) optional unit. Project Location Work will take place at Sabino Canyon Recreation Area, which is located in the city of Tucson within Pima County, Arizona. The Santa Catalina District Office and Sabino Canyon Visitor Center are co-located approximately 12 miles north of downtown Tucson, AZ. The physical address of the site is 5700 N Sabino Canyon Rd, Tucson, AZ 85750. The site may be accessed using paved highways and roadways. The coordinates for the site are Latitude = 32.309965°and the Longitude = -110.823981°. Legal description is Section 8, Township 13 South, and Range 15 East. Contract Time The Contractor is expected to begin work within ten (10) days of the Notice to Proceed date (to be determined) Anticipated Schedule for solicitation, award, and completion of project is as follows: Solicitation Posted: Anticipated by September 9, 2023 Solicitation Close: September 22, 2023 Anticipated Award Date: September 27, 2023 Project Completion: 60 days after Notice to Proceed Magnitude The Government’s estimate for this requirement is $25,000 to $100,000. Additional Information This requirement is being solicited as a Total Small Business Set-Aside, under North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code 238220 – Plumbing, Heating, and Air-Conditioning Contractors, which a small business size standard of $19M. The Forest Service intends to award one (1) Firm-Fixed-Price (FFP) contract resulting from this solicitation. The US Department of Agriculture, Forest Service intends to conduct this acquisition by use of simplified acquisition procedures in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13. A single contract award will be made to the offeror that submits a quotation that has been determined to represent the best value to the Government. All interested vendors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) database at https://sam.gov/content/entity-registration before award of contract; failure to register in the SAM database may cause your firm to be ineligible for award and removed from consideration. Interested vendors must obtain complete solicitation package on SAM.gov, copies will not be mailed from this Contracting Office. All amendments will be posted on SAM.gov and vendors will be solely responsible for viewing the solicitation posting in SAM.gov for amendments to the solicitation. This notice does not obligate the Government to award a contract, nor does it obligate the Government to pay for any proposal preparation costs.
