This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the procedures contained in FAR Part 12.6, Acquisition of Commercial Items, and FAR Part 13.5, Simplified Procedures for Certain Commercial Products and Commercial Services, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. ii. Description/Statement of Work/Specification: United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Agricultural Research Service (ARS), Pacific West Area (PWA) Forage Seed and Cereal Research Unit (FSCRU) requires contractor assistance for “Hop Early-Line Evaluation Germplasm Project.” This project involves planting, germination, screening and selection of resistant hop germplasm offspring from seed to whole plants. Specific temperature requirements for disease screening, periodic trimming of plants under consultation with USDA staff, daily watering and regular fertilizer applications will be required. Project work will take place at the contractor’s facility. SEE ATTACHED STATEMENT OF WORK (SOW) FOR A FULL DESCRIPTION OF REQUIREMENTS. vii. Date(s) and place(s) of delivery and acceptance: This contract will have a 12-month base period and four (4) 12-month option periods. The Period of Performance start date is anticipated to be Spring 2023, but the exact date will be determined by the solicitation-period, amendments (if any), and final award date.
