What wind speed rating is requested for the warranty? RESPONSE: Cache County, UT references a wind speed of 90 mph for minimum Environmental standards. Contractor shall consult local building codes information and environmental rating data for the geographic location of installation. This is a FAR par 13 solicitation announcement for the U. S. Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service, 690 North 1100 East, USU Campus, Logan, UT. 84322. This is a request for proposal for construction project, Replacement of Roof on Main Building and Detached Garage. PWA-Logan, UT., USDA, ARS, 690 North 1100 East, USU Campus, Logan, UT. 84322. This announcement is a total set-aside for Small Business Concerns. The USDA is seeking a Firm Fixed Price proposal from a qualified Contractor to furnish all tools, equipment, material, permits, labor, and supervision necessary to accomplish, the work as provided in the Contract documents, Plans, and Specifications, summary of which is provided below: This project contains Items as listed below: Work includes complete demolition and replacement of existing roofing systems at the FRRL including the main office building and a detached garage. The contractor shall provide a turn-key product including proper installation of all material and equipment per manufacturer’s recommendations. Description of Work: Remove and properly dispose of approximately 12,000 square feet of existing EPDM roof system and plywood decking. Contractor shall site verify all area measurements. Inspects existing insulation for any damage or deterioration and report findings to ARS Location Monitor. Install new ½” DensDeck roof board (or equivalent). Install new 75 Mil mechanically attached EPDM roofing system. New system shall include membrane wrapped walls and flashing. Install new copings, flashings and vent caps. Furnish and install manufacturer’s termination bar at all 4 walls Furnish and install all required pipe boots, flashing and seal all roof penetrations per manufacturer’s specifications. Replace all traffic protection walk pads for access to rooftop exhaust and air handing equipment. Location monitor to verify with contractor missing pad areas. New roof system shall include provided 20-Year manufacturer’s warranty on materials and 10-year warranty on labor. Completion Time: 90 calendar days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed. Prior to commencing work, the contractor receiving award shall provide proof that an OSHA certified "competent person" (CP) (29 CFR 1926.20 (b)(2)) with 30-hour OSHA certification will maintain a presence at the work site whenever the general or subcontractors are present. All employees of general contractor or subcontractors on site shall have the 10-hour OSHA certified Construction Safety course. In accordance with FAR 36.204, disclosure of the magnitude of this construction project is between $100,000 and $250,000. As authorized by FAR 5.102, solicitation dissemination is limited to electronic medium, and the USDA will provide no hard copies.
