Description: The Dixie NF Supervisor's and Cedar City Ranger District Office project is to provide for the construction of a new 15,750 square foot Forest Service office facility. The new office building will be constructed in a manner to acquire two Green Globes. The contractor will be responsible for the development of the site and construction of the building in accordance with the scope of work, specifications, and drawings, and additional technical information including all utilities, parking, landscaping, fencing and all other work as shown on the drawings. The contractor will be responsible for coordination with utility companies. Prior to the construction of the new office building, the contractor will be required to decommission three existing buildings on the site, The contractor will need to take precautions for lead based paint and abate asbestos in the buildings. The Forest Service has had these buildings tested and will provide test data prior to Request for Proposal (RFP) response date. The building that currently houses the Supervisor's Office and Cedar City Ranger District's employees is a leased facility. The lease on this facility will expire in May of 2021 and all work for the construction of the new office building must be complete in time for the Forest Service to move into the office prior to the expiration of the lease at the current location. The solicitation will be available on or after June 10, 2019 and may be downloaded from this site at that time. Information on a scheduled site visit will be provided in the solicitation. All future information about this acquisition, including amendments, will be distributed solely through this site. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring this site to ensure that they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition. SAM REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS: Contractors are advised that in order to receive an award as the prime contractor, they must be listed and active in the System for Award Management (SAM) database for the NAICS code 236220 - Commercial & Institutional Building. Failure to register will disqualify a contractor from award should the contractor be selected, not registered, nor active. Contractors may register via the Internet SAM website at https://www.sam.gov. Registration may take up to three weeks to process. Recommend registering immediately in order to be eligible for timely award.
