SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS This Sources Sought announcement is a request for information to be used for preliminary market research information and planning purposes only. This is NOT a solicitation and No proposals are being requested or accepted. No contract will be awarded from this notice. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this notice. Market research is being performed to determine the best method to advertise the Government's needs. Responses received will determine they type of solicitation to issue. No funds are presently available for this effort. The Government reserves the right to cancel this sources sought. The Ashley National Forest in Utah anticipate soliciting for and awarding a contract for Aquatic Macroinvertebrate Sample Processing. This contract will include: Process 25 samples of aquatic macroinvertebrates collected across the Forest as part of required regularly scheduled water quality monitoring. Samples will need to be analyzed and include a minimum 500 organisms identified, and use EPA EMAP standard taxonomic effort, with Chironomidae to genus or group. A report of the analysis and results will be prepared. The report will include the calculation of the Biological Condition Index (BCI), developed by Winget and Mangum (1979). The Government is seeking responses from contractors interested and capable of performing the required construction services. The purpose of this notice is to gain knowledge of interest, capabilities and qualifications of interested parties including Small Business (SB); 8A; Historically Underutilized Business (HUBZone); Service-Disable Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOB); and Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB). In order to determine the extent of industry interest and capability, interested parties must submit by e-mail to Jeremy MacDougall, jeremy.macdougall@usda.gov or by mail Attn: Jeremy MacDougall 1749 West 500 South, Salt Lake City, UT 84104. Responses are due by 3:00 PM (MT) on 22 May 2019. The responses shall include: 1) Name of Firm, Point of Contact, Mailing Address, Telephone Number, and DUNS number. 2) Identification of the appropriate small business eligibility as determined by the NAICS size standards, the Small Business Administration and registration in System for Award Management (SAM), including SB, HUBZone, 8A, SDVOB and WOSB. 3) A brief description of experience providing this type of service including dollar value of previous work performed within the past three years. 4) Description of available resources and location to complete this type of work.
