Project description Type 6 Engine Rebuild Fire Apparatus Refer to the attached solicitation for details. The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), United States Forest Service (USFS) is in need for a qualified vendor to provide Refurbishment and Upfit services for Region 1. This will result in the contractor refurbishing and reutilizing existing Type 6 bodies from various manufactures for a stand-alone contract. All labor, parts, and products installed must meet manufacturer’s specifications, this includes all non-OEM aftermarket items which may be necessary to meet specifications. The work includes the contractor to provide and furnish the following, but is not limited to: fabricating steel body apparatus to the chassis, electrical and lighting, traffic warning system (i.e., Electronic Siren Controller), modifications to the apparatus for fluid types and quantities, performance tests (i.e., electrical systems, vehicle tests), documentation with delivery, vehicle marking (refer to the Model 643U Standard Fire Marking Drawing), and providing a complete road kit (i.e., fire extinguisher, wheel chocks).
