This contract requires the Contractor to furnish equine stock (horses and/mules) to the US Forest Service. Delivery Orders issued will have more specific specifications based on the requirements of the program need. Baseline qualifications need to meet the following generic specifications: Horses: Between the ages of 2 and 12; a size at maturity between 14 and 17 hands tall, 900-1500 lbs; sound; an amenable and trainable personality; geldings, mares being the exception primarily for work horses. Mules: Between the ages of 2 and 12; a size at maturity between 14 and 17 hands tall, 900-1600 lbs; sound; Johns or Mollys; an amenable and trainable personality. Temperament is weighted more than color, size or breed.
