The Federal Government has a requirement for a Performance-Based Service Contract for Trail Clearing for the USDA Forest Service, Lolo National Forest. Performance-Based means the Contractor is responsible for an end product. If an end product is not provided in compliance with the contract specifications, an adjustment to the payment will be made. The work involves performing Trail Opening on approximately 44 miles of trails throughout the Ninemile District of the Lolo National Forest. The type of work includes: “Clearing” all downed or leaning trees within the clearing limits; “Loose Rock Removal” of all rocks larger than 6 inches from the trail tread; and “Drainage Maintenance” of all drainage structures made out of log or rock. Trail Opening standards, specifications and performance requirements are detailed below.
