This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; offers are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The Grand Mesa Uncompahgre Gunnison National Forest is in need of 3 to 5 Horses or Mules delivered to Gunnison Ranger District; 216 N. Colorado St., Gunnison, CO 81230. Stock should be Gelding. (Preferred), Weigh 1000-1200 lbs, be 4-7 years old, 14.3 - 15.3 hands tall, have good hooves, good mouth, good sight, and good hearing. Horse must be sound without Faulty conformation, scars from old wounds, straight shoulders, crooked legs, weak back, or drooping croup. Horse/Mule must be Gentle and easy to catch. Halters and leads well. Does not bite, kick, or pull back. Stands quietly when tied. Broke to ride for people with a variety of skill levels. Has good stopping and reining ability. Will load into trailer with ease and not fight the trailer when traveling. Easily shod, with no hoof deformity.
