The mobile generator will be used by facilities program as a primary power source to power Kelly Work Center (WC) which is a remote work center that is off the grid on the North Fork Ranger District, Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests. The Kelly WC is approximately 72 miles Northeast from Orofino via Grangemont Road and County Road 250. Currently there are two (2) generators at this location. Only one generator is run at once continuously for 100 to 200 hours before being shut down to rest while the second generator is run for the same number of hours and continuing the pattern of rotating the two generators. The Kelly WC is currently wired with a plug to accept a mobile generator being tied into the facilities power grid. The generator must be mobile (towable) to be moved for service and maintenance and the possibility of being moved to other locations on the forest to provide power in case of power outages. It will travel over rough roads to and from its primary location.
