General scope of work for lookout tower shall include demolition, disposal and re-construction of existing walls, interior and exterior siding, painting, sealing and roof of lookout cabin as well as design and construction of a new 6’ x 6’ metal building on concrete slab. The approximate lookout cabin dimensions are 14’-4” x 14’-4”. All existing windows and doors shall be reused. Walls for demolition are below lookout windows as well as framing around windows and may require jacking of roof to keep in place during construction. Work for the Mogollon Baldy Lookout Repair shall include all work necessary to pack in materials and tools for remodeling of the existing lookout tower as well as backhaul of all disposed materials and proper disposal thereof. This project will be unique due to its Wilderness location which requires an approximate pack in distance of 12 miles from Sandy Point which is the best known location to drive to and begin pack. Also, due to the Wilderness location, all work within Wilderness shall be performed with tools which are non-motorized nor electric. All work within the Wilderness will be done with primitive hand tools. Contractor shall consult COR when in doubt of which tools may or may not be used.
