Notice of Intent to award a sole source purchase order under FAR 13.106-1(b)(1). The United States Department of Agriculture intends to contract with Getinge USA Sales, LLC on a sole source basis to reprogram cycle parameters on 30 Getinge Autoclaves. The need for these services were identified during execution of previous autoclave validations. The need to reprogram and change identifying factors of autoclaves and program cycles is required for efficient and proper functioning of the autoclaves. In order to maintain original equipment manufacturer (OEM) specifications, the USDA seeks factory authorized technicians who are trained and certified to perform the scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on Getinge equipment. Therefore, the intent is to award a sole source contract to Getinge USA, Inc., outside documented proof that there are viable competitive options available. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. In doing so, interested sources must submit technical capabilities, pricing, and other information that demonstrates their ability to meet the Governments needs no later than the response time provided. Detailed capabilities must be submitted to the attached POC. This synopsis is not considered a request for bid/quote/proposal. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests for technical information will not be honored. No contract will be awarded on a basis of offers received in response to this notice but offers will be used to determine if a comparable source is available with factory authorized technicians who are trained and certified to perform the scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on the Getinge autoclaves.

This notice is issued solely for information and planning purposes – it does not constitute a Request for Quote (RFQ)/Invitation for Bid (IFB)/Request for Proposal (RFP) or a promise to issue an RFQ, IFB or RFP in the future. This notice does not commit the U.S. Government to contract for any supply or service.
