INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE FIRM FIXED PRICE CONTRACT The USDA-ARS in Clay Center, NE currently intends to award a sole source firm fixed price contract for the following: Neogen shall provide specific genotypic information on animals from the USMARC swine population that have extensive phenotypic data collected related to progression of lameness in pigs. The genotypic data needs to be compatible with genotypic data collected on the previous generations of animals in the USMARC population which have been processed with the Neogen Porcine GGP BeadChip to enable analyses to track the transmission of genomic segments from parents to their offspring. Results will be in the form of: * Data files containing genotypic information of 50,697 SNP markers on the Neogen Porcine GGP BeadChip for the remaining 1,056 animals in a study to identify genes associated with lameness. ** Call rates for animals need to exceed 90%. The statutory authority for the sole source procurement is 10 United States Code2304(c)(1) as implemented in Federal Acquisition Regulation 6.302-1(a)(2)(iii),Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will SatisfyAgency Requirements. This notice does not constitute a Request for Quote (RFQ)/ Invitation for Bid (IFB)/ Request for Proposal (RFP) or a promise to issue an RFQ, IFB, or RFP in the future. This notice does not commit the USDA to contract for any supply or service. The purpose of this Sources Sought Notice is to conduct market research to determine, in particular, the capability of firms to perform the same service as Neogen Corporation as described in the attached Specifications. Documentation of technical expertise must be presented in sufficient detail for the Government to determine that your company possesses the necessary experience to compete for this acquisition. Responses to this notice shall include the following: (a) company name; (b) address; (c) point of contact; (d) phone, fax and email; (e ) DUNS Number; (f) Cage Code; (g) socioeconomic category (i.e., small business, Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business, Veteran Owned Small Business, etc.); (h) a technical/capability statement and; (i) any GSA Schedule numbers.
