This notice is for informational and planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a solicitation or an obligation or commitment by the Government, nor is it a Request for Proposal (RFQ) at this time. Responses to this Notice must be in writing. The purpose of this Sources Sought Notice is to conduct market research to determine, in particular, the capability of Small Business firms to provide the supplies/services described below. Documentation of technical expertise must be presented in sufficient detail for the Government to determine that your company possesses the necessary experience to compete for this acquisition. Responses to this notice shall include the following: (a) company name; (b) address; (c) point of contact; (d) email address; (e ) DUNS Number; (f) Cage Code; (g) socioeconomic category (i.e., small business, Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business, Veteran Owned Small Business, etc.); (h) a technical/capability statement and; (i) any GSA Schedule contract numbers. ARS will accept responses from ALL socioeconomic categories in order to gain a more complete understanding of the market for these supplies. The USDA, ARS, Grand Forks, ND location has a need for a Motorized Stage and Software Package Compatible with Inverted Nikon Ti Microscope. Requirement capabilities/features: The instrument portion is a motorized stage for Whole Slide Scanning. The stage must be compatible with an Inverted NikonTi microscope, travel 4x3 inches with 10nm resolution and 0.05um resolution linear encoded for the NikonTi microscope. The stage must include a Universal specimen holder that can hold 1x3 and 2x3 glass slides, 25-60mm petri dishes and Microtitre plates (85x128mm). Controls for the stage must be able to control the X,Y,Z, filterwheels, shutters, Lumen PRO illumination systems and 4th axis devices on Nikon microscopes. The computer software must be a package for Multiwell Plate Acquisition,Databasing, Analysis and Review Includes AR, 6D, Jobs, General Analysis2 and General Analysis 3, Plate View, Graphing, and Remote Database. Extended Depth of Focus (EDF): Combines multiple focal images into single focused 2D image is a must. Hardware needs to include motorized Stage Control - device control for ASI, Ludl, Prior, and Maerzhauser stages. As well as motorized Focus Control - device control for external motorized focus control. Includes Prior, Maerzhauser, Nikon RFA, and PI Piezo Z drive (note that piezo is via RS232 only). Product to be shipped within 90 days of award. The NAICS Code for the expected acquisition is 333314. Any subsequent procurement will be conducted as a commercial item purchase in accordance with FAR Part 12 and as a Simplified Acquisition Procedure in accordance with FAR Part 13. After review of the responses received, the Government may issue a pre-solicitation synopsis and solicitation in Federal Business Opportunities. No proprietary, sensitive, confidential or classified information shall be included with your response.
