This is a Sources Sought Notice for the of purchase Nutritional Analysis of Screwworm diet. This Sources Sought is part of market research (FAR Part 10). No award will be made based on responses received. Please respond with a capability statement if your company is capable of performing this work. The requirement for analysis is listed below. Analytical testing is required to determine the nutritional content of the components comprising the larval diet used for mass rearing screwworm flies at the production facility in Panama (COPEG). The four nutritional components presently used in the production diet are spray-dried bovine Red Blood Cells (RBCs), bovine plasma, bovine milk, and chicken egg. In addition, soy powder is being used in place of bovine milk powder for rearing screwworm flies by ARS staff. The basic analyses for these five components are to include total fat, protein, carbohydrates, calories, and ash. In addition, the amino acid and fatty acid composition are to be determined. Results from these analyses will provide the necessary nutritional information to improve screwworm fly production by substitution and/or optimization of these larval diet components.
