This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and no other written solicitation will be issued. Solicitation 12805B20Q0217 is issued as a request for quotes. This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect at this current time. This is a small business set aside under NAICS code 238220. Only small business can participate in this solicitation. Verification of business size will be completed via the vendor's SAM registration. The USDA ARS Plains Area Plant and Animal Genetic Resources Preservation in Fort Collins, CO is requesting quotes for the following: Installation of Tempering Valves at the National Laboratory for Genetic Resources Preservation (NLGRP), 1111 South Mason St, Fort Collins CO 80521 Overview- This project is to provide all labor and materials needed to install water temperature tempering valves for the eyewashes and safety showers at NLGRP, 1111 South Mason St, Fort Collins CO 80521-4500. Work shall meet ANSI Z358.1-2004 standards. Currently the laboratory has approximately 22 eyewash and safety showers located throughout the building that lack a tempered water supply. Scope of Work: Provide and install tempering valves for eyewashes and safety showers locations shown below. Tempered Water is defined by ANSI as “A flushing fluid temperature conducive to promoting a minimum 15 minute irrigation period. A suitable range is 16-38°C (60-100°F).” The majority of the existing eyewashes are installed immediately adjacent to sinks and have a hot water supply within a 1 foot. Where possible, installation of tee fittings to supply sink and eyewash is approved. Safety showers are located in hallways and are close to accessible hot water piping. Where it is necessary to add on a “tee” or other fitting to existing copper water supply lines (examples of which would be hallway showers, room 151, room 229), the work shall be done using copper pipe with shut off valve to allow for isolation of the line for service or emergencies.
