Performance Work Statement (PWS) Project: Face Velocity Testing – Brookings, SD GENERAL INFORMATION 1.0 Background and Purpose: {Provide an overview of the program or initiative, including goals and objectives, phases of the initiatives or requirement.) The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Agricultural Research Service (ARS), North Central Agricultural Research Laboratory (NCARL) in Brookings, SD, conducts research to develop, document, and promote soil, crop, and pest management practices that are ecologically sustainable while maintaining producer profitability. We have a requirement to conduct face velocity testing and certification on the following equipment: 15 Fume Hoods 2 Snorkel Hoods 2 Biological Safety Cabinets The equipment is located at our NCARL facilities located at 2923 Medary Avenue, Brookings, SD 57006. This will be a base + 4 year contract. The quote will be for an annual testing and certification inspection. The quote will not include parts if required for certification. Those will be billed separately after determining what is needed from the inspection. To be in compliance, the testing and certification must be completed by July 31 each year. 2.0 Definitions: USDA - United States Department of Agriculture ARS - Agricultural Research Service NCARL - North Central Agricultural Research Laboratory CONTRACTOR REQUIREMENTS 3.0 Technical Requirements/Tasks: The equipment is located at the following address: 2923 Medary Ave Brookings, SD 57006 Access issues: the facility is secured and will require assistance to access by the staff during normal business hours. Business hours of operation are weekdays 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Offices are closed on all federal holidays. 4.0 Deliverable / Schedule: Key Deliverables Item: No. 1 Testing and certification 1 time per year No. 2 Inspection and certification report Include results of the test including face velocity testing and smoke test. 7 days after each inspection/certification until contract expiration. 5.0 Government Furnished: 1) Access to the facility during normal business operations (Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm) 6.0 Travel: No travel by the contractor except between their site of business and our facilities is anticipated. 7.0 Contractor’s Key Personnel: Contractor’s technician. 8.0 Security Requirements: Not applicable. 9.0 Data Rights: None 10.0 Section 508 – Electronic and Information Technology Standards: Not applicable. 11.0 Performance Requirement Measures: Either validate that equipment is certified or identify discrepancies to fix equipment to bring to certification standard is the performance measure.
