THIS IS AN INFORMATIONAL NOTICE ONLY The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Agricultural Research Service (ARS), Plains Area Office has a requirement for the complete upgrade of a fire alarm system for a USDA facility in Houston, TX. The Contractor shall provide all plant, labor, equipment, materials, and transportation and performing all required work in accordance with the plans and specifications for fire alarm upgrade. In accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 36.204 the magnitude of this construction project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. USDA will issue a Firm Fixed Price Construction Contract. The Request for Proposal (RFP), 12805B-20-R-0001, may be issued in the month of December 2019. The requirement will be set-aside for 100% for Total Small Business, under NAICS Code 238210, Electrical Contractors and Other Wiring Installation Contractors with a size standard of $16.5M. Completion timeframe for the resulting contract is 210 days. The RFP will be accessible via https://beta.sam.gov/ in the “Contracting Opportunities” section. Potential Offerors are responsible for monitoring this site for release of the RFP package and any amendments. All offerors shall be registered with the System for Award Management Registration per FAR Clause 52.204-7 and 52.204-8. No paper copies of the solicitation will be mailed and telephone requests will not be honored.
