Update: 7/13/2020 Added Question and Answer file. ------------------------------------------------- Update: 7/10/2020 Added two pictures of the chimney (with text) for clarification. ------------------------------------------------- See attached Amendment 0001, Standard Form 30, that makes the following changes to the original solicitation: (1) Period of Performance changed from 30 Days ARO to 90 Days ARO; (2) Response due date is extended from 7/9/2020 at 2:30 PM MT to 7/16/2020 at 2:30 PM MT; and (3) Section 3C of SOW revised to add "use double-wall Stainless Steel for the chimney." SOW Rev 7-8-20 attached. Please sign and return this form, SF 30, and the original SF 1442 and required documents as your bid. Original Solicatation below: The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Agricultural Research Service (ARS), Plains Area Office has a requirement to remove and replace a boiler at the North Central Agricultural Research Laboratory (NCARL), Building 6 for Seed House, Brookings, SD. The existing boiler has reached its expected life and needs replacement. The replacement boiler shall be rated at 900,000 BTU/Hour, 80 percent efficient, with the following dimensions (in inches): 61 (L) x 30.5 (W) x 66 (H). The new boiler will pull combustion intake air from inside the room and exit through an 8-inch exhaust. It shall be a TRIAD steam boiler Series 900 or equivalent. Piping shall be insulated after leak testing and boiler will be functionality tested to provide the designed amount of steam for building demand. Contractor will be required to check manufacturer’s requirements, so the amount of the combustion air is adequate for new boiler operation. Operating gas pressure is field set at startup according to the manufacturer’s requirement. Contractor shall perform any integration services necessary to insure functionality and compatibility with new equipment. All work shall adhere to the manufacturer’s guidelines and in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations and codes. The Contractor shall provide all plant, labor, equipment, materials, and transportation, and perform all required work in accordance with the plans and specifications for the removal and replacement. In accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 36.204 the magnitude of this construction project is between $25,000 and $100,000.
