Install new fencing and perform heavy maintenance on existing fencing that was damaged by the Rafael Fire in 2021. All fencing materials will be supplied by the Kaibab NF other than concrete needed to set the poles and braces, this will need to be supplied by the contractor. A total of 9.21 miles of existing fencing was identified for this project, a combination of re-construction, heavy maintenance, right of way clearing and removal of old fencing materials is needed. Any fencing re-constructed or having heavy maintenance performed must have a smooth bottom wire installed to meet wildlife friendly fencing requirements for allotment pasture interior fencing. Due to the nature of the burn, sections of fencing identified for repair are sporadic and not in a continuous line. JD Dam fence installation will require the top strand of the fence to be galvanized steel cable (cable supplied by Kaibab NF). The contract will consist of rangeland fence projects for livestock containment structures. Clearing and pruning of vegetation and removal of hazard trees along existing fence lines will be required.
