USDA-FS Tonto National Forest has a requirement for the installation of BAER (Burned Area Emergency Response) Gates in response to the Bush and Central Fires Description of Work: The project encompasses several different access points to burn areas for the Bush and Central fires. The six gates will be installed on the Tonto Basin, Mesa and Cave Creek Ranger Districts within the Tonto National Forest. The gates will provide the Forest the ability to safely close off a burned area from the public during BAER restoration activities and during the natural recovery of the burned area. All work shall be completed in accordance with the project specifications and drawings. The work includes all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to perform all operations for the work specified. All gates shall be installed per manufacturer’s recommendations. Location – The FR143 & SR87 intersection gate will be a double Forestry gate, as furnished by Creative Building Products, (260-459-0456) or an approved equal. FR 143 & SR188 intersection shall include the remove all the exiting broken gate. The site will require the installation of two 16’-20’ Single Road Closure Gate – All Steel, as furnished by W. W. Cattle Guards, LLC (928-537-4488) or an approved equal. FR385, FR41 and FR 524 shall require the installation of one 25’ single Road Closure Gate each – All Steel, as furnished by W. W. Cattle Guards, LLC (928-537-4488) or an approved equal. FR3352 shall require the installation of two 16’-20’ Single Road Closure Gate – All Steel, as furnished by W. W. Cattle Guards, LLC (928-537-4488) or an approved equal. Basis for Award: The Government Anticipates awarding a Firm Fixed-Price Contract using RFQ Lowest Price – Technically Acceptable. Award will be made to the offer that meets or exceeds the requirements contained herein, at the price that is most advantageous to the government will be determined to be the best value. Price reasonableness will be determined by using competitive solicitation process. The solicitation package, plans, and specifications will be made available on or after April 22, 2021 and will be posted at https://beta.sam.gov/ This is a 100% Small Business Set Aside. The Small Business size standard is 16.5M NAICS code 238990 All Other Specialty Trade Contractors. The Magnitude of this project is between $100,000 to $250,000 Davis-Bacon wages apply. Payment and Performance bonds will be required over $30,000 and will be required 10 days after award.
