Description: Crystal Lake Recreation Area (CLRA) is a high use site that accesses a system of trails and other recreation with scenic views. CLRA currently has over 200 campsites with tables, fire rings, a restrooms, trash cans, signage, paved surfacing, water systems and other infrastructure assets. Coldbrook Campground is a medium use site along Highway 39 used by hikers and picknickers when in season. The project will serve to restore recreation access to site amenities that have passed their service life and will meet the needs of the public. Accessible Tables: - Tables will RJ Thomas Mfg Co., Inc Pilot Rock WAT/W-8PW Series or approved equal. - They will incorporate galvanized steel braces for a stronger A-frame design. This is your traditional A-frame table modified to withstand public and commercial use. Designed to meet the challenges of high elevation snow and other extreme loads, additional steel braces under the seats and top provide a Snow Load Rating of 500 lbs. per sq. ft. These picnic tables have 8 ft. recycled plastic tops and seats. The design meets or exceeds current ADA guidelines for wheelchair accessibility and provides for wheelchair access at both ends (30" wide, 27" under table top and 19" knee plus 5" toe clearances). - LOAD RATING: Designed to withstand extremely heavy loads. They have been independently tested by an independent lab and a state university and are rated to withstand weight loads up to 500 lbs per sq. ft. This rating is achieved by including additional steel braces under the seats and top. Remember...the rating is 500 lbs. per sq. ft. NOT per table! - FRAMES: 4" x 6" (nom.) leg posts. Cross supports are formed using galvanized steel channel to build rigid end frames and a sturdy seat support. Frames are supported by diagonal braces of 1-5/16" OD galvanized steel pipe attached to a steel center channel under the table top. All 3/8" dia. galvanized carriage bolts (not lag screws) are provided for assembly. Finish will be powder coated brown. - LENGTH: 8 ft. table top and 8 ft. seats. - TOP/SEAT MATERIAL: 2" X 10" (nom.) 100% Recycled Plastic planks and color shall be brown. Accessible Fire Rings: - Fire rings will RJ Thomas Mfg Co., Inc Pilot Rock FSDW-30/18/TB WheelChair Accessible Double-Wall Firering Series or approved equal. - Accessible campfire ring with a full-height outer ring (32 inch overall diameter outer ring) as a heat barrier for the inner ring. One inch diameter draft holes feed air into the space between the rings. This unit does not require aggregate fill because it is equipped with a fire/log grate inside the fire ring. This campfire ring is designed to accommodate a person in a wheelchair, but all campers will find this fire ring a versatile complement to their campsite. Tip back anchor pins secure the unit in place. Anchors must be set in concrete. Fabrication includes a 1/8" thick steel outer ring with the formed reinforcing flange, and a 3/16" thick steel inner ring. Both rings are 17-3/8" tall. The 370 sq. inch single level cooking grate is permanently hinged to the outer ring. Inside is the large 380 sq. inch log grate. This log grate is hinged to the inner ring and tips up to simplify ash clean out. The cooking and fire grates are fabricated using 5/8" dia. perimeter and handle bars with coiled steel bar grips, and 1/2" dia. grate bars. All grate bars are welded on both sides. This campfire ring is finished with high temp non-toxic black enamel paint. - Flanged outer fire ring for strength and safety (1/8" thick steel with a formed (not welded) 1" flanged lip at top of ring and 1" draft holes (10 spaced evenly on circumference) - Height between 17.5" and 18" with a nominal diameter of 32" - Cooling air gap between rings - Inner ring to support fire grate - Single level, hinged cooking grate - Grate swings outside of ring when not in use for better access to fire and an open camp fire effect - Spring grips of coiled steel bar - Elevated cooking grate and firebed to conform to ABA requirements - U pin attachments to be placed in the field, capable of being embedded into concrete Additional specifications can be found within the DOUBLE-WALLED FIRE RING SPECIFICATIONS and 8FT FRAME TABLE SPECIFICATIONS.
