The amendment must be signed and included in quote packages. This contract is to rent several pieces of heavy equipment without operator. The USFS will provide fuel and operators for the equipment, which will be used for construction of trails and work on a stream and meadow restoration project. Rental period will be approximately June 1, 2023 to October 15, 2023, with the possibility to shorten or extend the contract for 1 or more pieces of equipment at the monthly rate. This contract will consider “monthly” to be 4 weeks. Approximate rental periods for each piece of equipment are identified in the Schedule of Items. Equipment must be pressure washed before delivery to the project area to remove weeds and petroleum products. All equipment and parts must be in proper operating condition with protective armoring and skid plates in place to reduce the possibility of rupturing equipment hoses. All hoses and "O" rings must be inspected and replaced if needed prior to starting work, to reduce the potential for leaks. The contractor will service the equipment as needed to maintain it in good operating condition. Estimated response times to repair breakdowns should be included in contractor quotes and will be considered in award of contract. All equipment must meet Tier 3 or higher requirements for air quality and have been approved for use in California.
