This contract is for travelling approximately 583 miles of National Forest System roads on the Eldorado National Forest to produce an inventory of road signs. An inventory report shall be produced to include all regulatory signs, warning signs, and guide signs (brown horizontal signs) within forest roads classified as operational maintenance level 3 through 5. Other signs such as portal signs, informational signs, etc. are not part of this inventory. There is no accurate existing inventory of signs, sign locations or sizes of signs. There is an outdated inventory from 1992 that may be used as a reference. The contractor shall travel all roads designated in the contract, stopping at each sign location to collect inventory data on each existing sign that meets the criteria described in this contract (regulatory, warning and guide signs). After this first step is completed, the contractor shall provide an inventory report to the Contracting Officer for review and final approval. Sign data shall also be collected for gates immediately adjacent to designated roads or on the designated roads. The completed sign inventory is intended to become an accurate inventory for future use by the Forest Service. Note this contract does not involve replacement of any signs or posts.
