The USDA-ARS-SWRU is in need of a laboratory analytical instrument to perform the gas analysis of 15N isotopes and corresponding isotopomers in nitrous oxide (N2O) that will be from small volume gas samples (5 to 25 mL in size; individual grab samples and not a continuous flow). This analyzer will be used solely in a laboratory environment. The analyzer needs to be capable of measuring both concentration and isotopic ratios of site specific and bulk ?15N and ?18O in N2O from gas samples. The N2O will be between the concentrations of 0.3 to 10 ppm in an air matrix. The precision on the ?15N and ?18O measurements should be <1 per mil reproducibility and the overall concertation accuracy should be <0.5 ppb over a 5-minute averaging window. This system also needs to be operated without liquid nitrogen.
