Amendment #1, Full solicitation added 4/4/19 he USDA Forest Service, Superior National Forest, located in Duluth Minnesota anticipates issuing a Request for Proposals to complete Forest Road 170 Crescent to Brule Lake. Work involves producing, hauling and spreading crushed aggregate, in addition to replacing culverts. The project is located on the Tofte Ranger District (Cook County, MN) on the Superior National Forest. Beginning of project is located approximately 14 miles north of Lutsen, MN on FR 170 (The Grade) starting at Crescent Lake Campground and traveling approx. 6 miles east to the Brule Lake Road (FR 326). Some additional work is located at other locations along the 35 mile long FR 170. The contractor(s) shall provide all expertise, labor, supervision, services, equipment, tools, supplies, and permits (when and if required), transportation, and incidentals necessary to perform the roadway repairs and other associated minor activities. Work includes, but is not limited to producing, hauling and spreading crushed aggregate, in addition to replacing culverts, along approximately 6.0 :miles of Forest Road 170 (The Grade) from Crescent Lake Campground (FR 1244) to Brule Lake (FR 326). Optional bid items include crushing additional stockpiled material, placing additional crushed aggregate, additional culverts, and Calcium Chloride. Work will be completed in the 2019 construction season. Price range is between $400,000 and $750,000. Award is contingent upon availability of funds. This project is being solicited as a 100% set aside for Small Business. All work is to comply with local, Federal and State codes and is subject to Department of Labor wage rates.
