Prosolicitaion Notice for Timothy Grass Hay to be delivered to APHIS VS, New York Animal Import Center on as as needed basis. SPECIFICATIONS A.) 100% timothy grass hay, as usually produced in the Western States. B.) Will be second early cut irrigated timothy hay. C.) Color: No less than 90% percent Green color. D.) Maturity: Timothy should be in early to mid-maturity stage when harvested. E.) Foreign material: No greater than 5 percent. F.) Non-injurious foreign material: No greater than 5 percent. G.) Conditions: Hay shall have a good odor and shall not be under-cured, hot, wet, dusty, moldy, caked, badly broken, badly weathered, or otherwise of distinct low quality. H.) Moisture percentage: At time of delivery, moisture percentage will be no less than 12 percent and no greater than 20 percent. I.) Injurious foreign material: Shall be free of injurious foreign material. J.) The hay shall be delivered in solid, rectangular bales, tied with plastic strapping. These Bales will be packaged in what the industry calls half-cuts, these are bigger bales that are cut in half and compressed. Each bale shall weigh approximately 60 pounds. These bales will be palletized on wooden pallets in one ton units.
