The USDA, Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service, Wildlife Services (APHIS-WS) intends to award 1 IDIQ contract to procure fully refined paraffin wax used in the manufacturing of feed blocks for use in servicing of Brown Tree Snake (BTS) traps located on Guam and islands of the Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas. Wax would be used to combine assorted bird seeds, grains, and pellets into a block form. Consistency of supply and quality of product are paramount in awarding contract. The contractor will maintain at their location an uninterrupted supply of 3,861 pounds available to ship within fourteen (14) days’ notice throughout length of contract, with the exception of the very first delivery order. Fully refined paraffin wax should be free of any dust, particles, or other impurities on the surface of the slabs or within the paraffin wax slabs. Required chemical and physical properties of fully refined paraffin wax are as follows: Product identification: fully refined paraffin wax Chemical family: Petroleum Hydrocarbon Boiling point: >600 degrees Melting point: 125-170 degrees F Flash Point: > 455 degrees F Density: @ 25 degrees C: 0.90 g/ml Viscosity@ 100 degrees C: (CST): 3.5-8.0 Appearance: off white to solid white Generic name: Paraffin wax Odor: None This is presolicitation notice.
