(vi) Description of Requirement: 1.0 Statement of Work Gamma Cell Irradiator Source Transfer 1.1 General The purpose of this Statement of Work is to provide the Otis Forest Pest Methods Laboratory a contract that will repair a Gamma Cell Irradiator. Gammacell 220R Irradiator Purchased April 27, 2019 No current warranty 1.2 Background The Otis Forest Pest Methods Laboratory conducts activities for the United States Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Inspection Services (APHIS). The lab is located at 1398 West Truck Road, Buzzards Bay MA., 02542. This is on Joint Base Cape Cod. The facility is approximately 32,500 square foot and consists of Administrative offices, laboratories, and maintenance shop. 2.0 Scope of Work to be performed: The Contractor is to send a Factory trained, Licensed, and Certified, Service representative to work on the Irradiator. The Contractor is to remove the existing Gammacel Irradiator from Room 20. (GC220-151) The Contractor is to remove the existing Gammacel Irradiator from Room 20. (GC220-183) The Contractor is to remove the existing 32 sources from GC220-183, following DEP and OSHA regulations and reinstall them into GC220-151. The Contractor is to remove the existing timer from GC220-183 and reinstall it onto GC220-151. The Contractor is to completely test the entire function of the irradiator when work is completed. The dose rate of the irradiator sample chamber will be measured and certified with USNIST traceable instrumentation. The Contractor will provide a dose profile of the sample chamber after source loading. The Contractor is responsible for certifying the new Gammacel and training the Otis personnel. (This will be 4-6 people). The Contractor is to remove and dispose following DEP and OSHA regulations, the existing damaged Gammacel Irradiator. The Contractor is responsible for filing any paperwork for the decommissioning and disposal of the damaged Gammacel. The Contractor is also responsible for the disposal fees. (JUN 2020) (xiii) Additional Contract Requirements or Warranty Warranty Implied Warranty - The Government’s post award rights contained in 52.212-4 are the implied warranty of merchantability, the implied warranty of fitness for particular purpose and the remedies contained in the acceptance paragraph.
