The USDA, Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) program, Facilities and Operations at Edinburg, TX requires DDVP (also called 2,2-dichlorovinyl dimethyl phosphate or dichlorvos) pest strips to control Gypsy Moths. The USDA uses DDVP in its program to manage the gypsy moth. The primary use of DDVP is as a component in the pheromone baited milk carton style traps that are used primarily for surveying and monitoring gypsy moth populations. The maximum annual number of strips in packages of 50 each is 800. The intent is to award a firm fixed price Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity contract for a five-year period.
