The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) intends to issue a Request for Quotation for tree harvesting and transportation services. The predominant purpose of this project is to acquire Emerald Ash Borer Beetles (EAB) from harvested infested trees in order to maintain the EAB biological control production. Work involves harvesting 512 marked EAB infested trees located in 3 locations which are located within the counties of Fond Du Lac and Sheboygan in the state of Wisconsin. The requirement will be harvesting, bucking the whole trees into sections of approximately 20 inches; and transporting the material to Government facilities in Howell, Michigan and Brighton, Michigan. All work must be completed by March 15, 2019. Timely performance is critical to avoid emergence of the EAB from harvested material. Tree harvesting areas and quantities are as follows: Plymouth WI (Qty: 137 trees, Avg. DBH: 7.4), Greenbush, WI (Qty: 220 trees, Avg. DBH: 9.9) and Forest WI (Qty: 155 trees, Avg. DBH: 11.3), The RFQ will be available on the Federal Business Opportunities website on or around December 10, 2019.
