Solicitation 12505B24R0020 is issued as a Request for Proposals (RFP). The solicitation document, with the incorporated clauses and provisions, is issued in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Parts 13 and 36 and will be incorporated in the awarded firm-fixed price order. Notice of Set-Aside for Small Business Concerns: This requirement is a Total Small Business Set Aside. The associated NAICS Code is 238140 Masonry Contractors. The small business size standard is $19.0 million. Magnitude of Construction is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. Period of performance is 360 days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed. Bonds: If the contract exceeds $35,000, the offeror to whom award is made shall furnish a payment security, which can be a payment bond or an alternative form per FAR 52.228-13, Alternative Payment Protections. Site Visit: Two organized site visits have been scheduled for: June 18, 2024, at 1:00 PM CDT June 20, 2024, at 10:00 AM CDT. The same information will be provided at both site visits, so offerors only need to attend one. In order to attend the site visit, you MUST pre-register by June 12, 2024, at 2:00 PM CDT. Pre-register by emailing debora.wells@usda.gov with your company name and the name(s) of the representative(s) who will attend. The site visit will be held for the purpose of providing contractors with the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the site which may be helpful in the preparation of offers. Attendance at this site visit is not mandatory for offer submission; however, failure to visit the site will not relieve or mitigate the successful contractor's responsibility and obligation to fully comply with the terms, conditions and specifications contained and/or referenced in this document. The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Agricultural Research Service (ARS) has a repair and maintenance of exterior brick requirement of the National Animal Disease Center (NADC) located at 1920 Dayton Ave, Ames, IA 50010. PROJECT SCOPE: This requirement is to extend the longevity of the building’s facade through brick replacement and repointing. There is not a focus on historical preservation for this project. Work includes removing existing caulk that was added to settling joints and cracks in the brick masonry; repairing locations after the caulk is removed and tuckpoint with new in like kind mortar, replacing missing, cracked and severely chipped brick with in like kind brick, replacing brick and mortar that is not structurally sound and power washing all surfaces after the masonry work has cured sufficiently and apply two coats of clear Silane masonry sealer. Complete specifications will be provided in the Statement of Work. Site visits will be scheduled for June 18, 2024 at 1:00 PM CST and June 20, 2024 at 9:00 AM CST. It is anticipated that award will result in a single award firm-fixed price contract. The estimated magnitude of construction is between $500,000 and $1,000,000.
