THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT AND IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. The USDA/ARS intends to award a Firm fixed price sole source contract under the authority of 41 U.S.C 253(c)(1) and FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), only one responsible source, to: S&B Cattle Co. P.O. Box 12248 Lexington, KY 40582 Description of Requirement: The objective of this sole source award is to procure 17 beef heifers that meet the following specifications: Vaccinated (IBR and Blackleg); Dewormed; Sound and healthy; 1,000-1,400 lbs.; Certificate of Veterinary Inspection from Allen and Jolly Veterinary Services PLLC (Versailles, KY); and Selected from the 90 head of cattle that are currently on loan to the Forage Animal Production Research Unit as part of a non-funded cooperative agreement. The NAICS code for this requirement is 112111; the small business size standard is $2.5 Million. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes; however, interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. All information received by 9:00 AM CDT on August 8, 2022 will be considered by the Government. Responses shall be submitted to Josh Dobereiner at josh.dobereiner@usda.gov.
