The USDA, Agriculture Marketing Service, Cotton and Tobacco Programs plans to award a sole-source commercial item contract to Hewlett Packard Company, Atlanta, Georgia. The contract will be awarded in accordance with FAR Part 12. This contract is for hardware, software and professional services to upgrade our Integrity 2100/2200 processors to the 2300 series. The contract also includes hardware and software maintenance on the thirteen Integrity servers for the base year and up to two option years. The maintenance includes NonStop Kernel Operating System software updates/patches which can only be provided from HPE. HP currently provides all maintenance for the existing servers. Hewlett Packard is the only known vendor who can provide this upgrade including all hardware, software, professional services and maintenance. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302.
