The excavated portion of the outlet channel at Okhissa Dam, located in Section 6, T5N, R4E, Franklin County, Mississippi is approximately 500' in length from the stilling basin to where it intersects the natural channel. Approximately 300' of this channel is constricted by silt bars from the remnants of a channel plug placed at the beginning of the channel in 2008 for testing purposes. Contractor will remove the silt bars and restore the channel to its original trapezoidal shape. A copy of the detail for the channel cross section from the original plans is attached; it was designed with a 38' flat bottom and 3:1 side slopes. The excavated material is to be hauled away and disposed of properly off Forest Service land. After the channel work has been completed, all areas outside the channel disturbed by construction will be regraded to their preconstruction condition. On all disturbed areas, spread Bahia grass seed at the rate of 20 pounds per acres and 13-13-13 fertilizer at the rate of 500 pounds per acre. If seeding is done from September 1 to February 28, in addition to the above spread rye grass seed at the rate of 80 pounds per acre.
