The USDA Forest Service, Superior National Forest anticipates issuing a Request For Proposal (RFP) for a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) type contract. The intent of this contract is to construct a new 3,010 gross square foot fire vehicle garage which includes heated vehicle storage, exercise space, accessible restroom and shower and laundry facilities. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, supervision, transportation, supplies, and incidentals to perform all work necessary. The synopsis and related documents will only be available for download from the System for Award Opportunities (www.sam.gov) on or about April 28, 2022. The anticipated contract magnitude is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. Notice to Offeror(s)/Supplier(s): Funds are not presently available for this effort. No award will be made under this solicitation until funds are available. The Government reserves the right to cancel this solicitation, either before or after the closing date. In the event the Government cancels this solicitation, the Government has no obligation to reimburse an offeror for any costs. NAICS: 236220, the size standard is $39.5 Million. This project is being solicited as a 100% set aside for Small Business. All work is to comply with local, Federal, and State codes and is subject to applicable wage rates. In order to receive award under this RFP the successful offeror shall be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) at WWW.SAM.GOV, and have completed the online representations and certifications and be a certified 100% Small Business. All responsible small business sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the USDA Forest Service. 1. Location of Project Work The work will be performed on the Superior National Forest, Tofte Ranger District, in Tofte MN. 2. Firm Fixed Price Contract The government is seeking proposals for a firm fixed price contract to construct a 3,010 gross square foot fire vehicle garage at the Tofte Ranger District. 3. Contract Award Under this solicitation, one contract may be awarded to the offeror whose proposal is technically acceptable and offers the best value to the Government. 4. Scope of Contract Work includes the construction of the fire vehicle garage on the Tofte Ranger District. The building: will have a 6” steel reinforced thickened slab with hydronic radiant heat; will be wood frame construction with 2 x 6 x12’ walls meeting an R value of 22.5 (min) with dense packed cellulous & rigid foam insulation, premanufactured trusses will be used and ceiling insulation will be blown cellulous with a minimum R value of 49.4; will architecturally blend with the historic buildings on site with colors and features such as asphalt shingles and lap siding; all lighting will be LED and will have designated receptacles for future vehicle charging stations. All project work shall be completed within 120 calendar days from contract award, and is estimated to begin around July 5, 2022.
